Read pages 120-end of Hiroshima and answer the following questions:

1. For each character in the book, write a one sentence description of their "fate" at the end of the book.

2. What do you think the "take away" is from this book? What do you think Hersey people to learn or think about after finishing Hiroshima?

3. Is this a worthwhile book to read? Explain your position.

The presidential election is in full swing! Find a speech (either by Mitt Romney, Barack Obama, Paul Ryan, or Joe Biden) that focuses on something you find interesting (education, the economy, the war in Afghanistan, etc., etc., etc.). Read the speech. Then, comment on this post and answer the following questions:

1) What was the URL of the speech?
2) Who was the speaker? Where was the speech given? What was the topic of the speech?
3) Summarize the speech-- what were the main points, what evidence did the speaker give to support his opinion, etc.?
4) What is your opinion about the speech? Do you agree with the speaker? Give evidence to support your opinion.
5) Do you think the speech was successful (was it convincing, truthful, etc.)? Give evidence from the text to support your opinion.

1. List every major character. For each, write a one-sentence analysis of the character's major belief or moral that dictates how he/she acts. (For example: For most of the movie, Simba believes that it's better to avoid responsibility, so he runs away, stays away, and tries to ignore what he knows he should be doing.)
2. From what you've read thus far, does this book have any relevance to Baltimore teens today? Use evidence from the book to support your opinion.
3. Write a one sentence overview of pages 90-120.
