While experiencing mostly physical bullying, he was also a victim of cyber and emotional bullying. There is no need to come up with a plan because there are school polices. I believe that polices should do their jobs and shouldn't wait until it's too late to handle a problem. I also think the schools should take a situation serious when someone comes to complain about bullying, or any harmful situation. They should confront the people and try to stop the problem before it gets too out of hand. Sometimes people who are getting bullied are afraid to say something, Therefore they should have an adult, such as someone around the school or their parents to go to.Those adults should talk to the principle, teachers, bus drivers, and other people in charge at the school. If a peron is not strong enough to handle being bullied it could make them suicidual. This is why people should take it more serious when people come to them for help.They also need to talk to bullies to make sure they understand. Some bullies bully for fun and don't realize that they really hurt a person's feelings. However, that doesn't make it acceptable, but they need to know how serious the situation is.

DeleteDeja I agree with everything you said. There are school polices for a reason, to stop the fighting, and bullying but some polices don't do their job. I also agree with when you said the people don't take it serious, I think that they wouldn't take it serious until either the bully or the victim commit suicide or even homicide.
DeleteI agree with deja because some school staff, police men , and parents dont pay enough attention to children. Most of the time when the child is ignored, they become fustrated,and began to think that there is only one way out. Suicide!

DeleteWell after bullying is noticeable, further action from the school staff and principal should be discussed rationally with the parents of the bully or bullies and the victim. In Billy Wolfe’s case there were no consequences for the bullies even after the school bus video showed Billy was telling the truth, which is probably why the bullying kept going on. So I think Baltimore City should follow these four steps.

3. Next it should be proven by showing the bruises, black eye(s), and blood shed
4. Find a fair solution
5. If that doesn’t work then bring in the police to investigate the school staff and the principal because they aren’t making sure the kids are in a safe environment. And show the police evidence and papers from the doctors and dentist. Then take or consider their advice on what to do next.
Adults should first tell both set of parents, and then try to make the bully talk about why he/she bully’s people. And ask the victim what they want to be done, like switching to a new class.
I agree most with your step 5 because when you have to take matters into your own hands then people start to realize that they had responsibilities they failed to meet.

First of all I think that was just a sad article, I still don't understand how they could say that, it was all Billy's fault, or that he deserved it. 2. Speak to the bully and the victim, to find out why the bully did what they did.
3. Talk to the parents about the kids getting their children help maybe going to a therapist or an psychiatrist. Some bullies harass other people because they are being harassed at home. Some victims of bullying commit suicide or even homicide because they are being picked on, so they should have someone to talk to.
4. The school could start an anti- bullying program or some kind of support group to the victims of bullying.
5. Find a solution so that it won't happen again
6. If the bullying continues I would get the police to investigate. I would also sue the school and the person who was in charge of the harassment.

DeleteI agree with you also because even though kids may play around and hit each other it is never okay to repeatedly harass someone for no reason. Some kids might have some traumatizing event that happened as a child that made them want to bully people and think that it was okay to do such things to someone.

DeleteIn essay 3 "A Boy the Bullies Love to Beat up, Repeatedly", a young boy is bullied daily by a group of other boys. The young boy that was bullied named Billy Wolfe was not only bullied in school daily but he was also bullied on the Internet. Many children are bullied just like Billy Wolfe and some of them commit suicide or some of the bullies take it to far and the bullied ends up dying as a result. A plan that Baltimore City could use to stop bullying in schools is have a bullied person come and speak to the children about the results of bullying and show the damages being done by bullying. What needs to be done to stop bullying is that people that bully need to be punished and have the people who are being bullied feel more comfortable about speaking out and letting them feel that it is okay to tell someone that something is wrong. Everyone needs to be involved in the fight to anti bullying because not only one group is affected by it everyone is. Adults can help teens who are being bullied or bullying but helping them figure out why they are bullying or what needs to be done to stop the bullying and make sure it doesn't happen again and not just brush the situation off to the side.

DeleteIn essay 3 "A Boy the Bullies Love to Beat Up,Reapeatedly , this story has really got to me for the simple reason that in middle school I was bullied and although I told my parents and teachers there was nothing really done. So I ened up taking things into my own hands and began getting in many fights and that just made people talk on the low. My point is that bulling is so horrible and although there are measures being taking its not enough inforcement going on, everyday that some one turns away from seeing someone nullied it crushes someone elses spirit. To me parents teach kids to be hatful it doesnt have to be your own parent but it starts with adults and it ends with us. I think that the child of a bullied child should be more aggresive when it comes to there child not in a voilent way but a more productive way uch as informing officer and princibles if not there take it farther like school board bring in the news if needed. Bulling will never stop because people bully when they feel less about themselves so they prey upon the weak but if parents and people start taking more aggresive measures then at least that can bring it it to a hault. Life is about taking a chance and people need to take a chance and so whats right for all our youth and we need to as well.

DeleteFor Baltimore City Schools to truly combat bullying in the school and in the city people need to take more charge. The whole school team, officers, children, teachers, and parents need to be involved with bullying and their surroundings. If they pay attention to the children and what’s going on then maybe the issue could be resolved before any serious conflict happens. The adults could help teens by talking to them, asking them the reason why they bully. They can ask questions, such as, how would you feel if someone did that to you or your loved one? Adults can help teens who are being bullied by asking them why they think they are being bullied. Letting them know that it is ok to tell someone if they feel unsafe. If things don’t go as planned then they have to learn how to defend themselves because they will have to learn that sometimes life is rough and there’s not always someone there to save you. Bullying happens not only in teens , but , today it is all ages and I feel as though people should really pay attention because many of bullying incidents result into suicide.

DeleteBullying can be a serious problem at many schools and in many cities. Action needs to be taken against bullying, if it goes on too long the victim could end up physically and emotionally hurt or even dead. The Baltimore City School District could do many things to combat bullying, however a plan I think would work is listed below:

2. Bring the bully and the victim to the office to assess the situation.
3. Notify the parents of the bully and the victim.
4. Have a meeting with the bully and their parents, and the victim and their parents. In the meeting further assess the situation and come up with a solution to stop it.
5. If the bullying continues then suspend the bully for a few days.
6. If the bullying continues further then notify the police.
I think that serious action needs to be taken to stop bullying so that it does not continue any further. The families of the bully and the victim should be involved when an incident does occur. Adults could help a bully by finding out why the bully hurts people or to find any underlying issues. Adults could also help the victim by finding out why bullies like to pick on them or to find out if there is a bigger problem than just one incident.
I agree with you. Everyone needs to be involed with the process, so that it can be resovled. Let they bully know that this has to stop and let the boy/girl thats getting bullied that we hear you and we're willing to help.

7.Follow up with school officials to ensure they are taking steps to deal with the problem.
In the article "A boy the bullies love to beat up, repeatedly". Tells me abouta a a boy , billy, how difficult his high school years were, also cyber bullying and emotional bullying. Bullying is in almost every school in the United States. A plan that baltimore city school systems can put in effect to stop bullying. They can have groups for the out cast students, make the counselors more known to the students, hold meeting after school for kids who dont fit in and most of all let the kids know that you care and willing to help. The groups that need to be involed with these steps are basketball, chest team, football, tech club and music. They need to pair up with someone thats less none and let them get to know each other personally, so they can have a take on what its like to not have everyone like you. The adults can play a major role with helping out. They can get more involed with their children, check the internet action, who they talking to and know where their going when they leave the house.

DeleteBullying is not right first off. In the essay 3, Billy gets bullied everyday. I know Billy's parents were sick and tired of their son getting bullied. Bullying shows that the person doing the bullying is a coward. Adults have the power to stop and prevent Bullying, why they don't use that powwer, whoi knows. If anyone is getting bullied they should immedialty tell an adult. God gave everyone common sense, so children and adults should use it. The city of Baltimore should have laws inforced supporting non-bullying. If the city show that they are not bullying eventually everyone else will cutt it out. BCPD an BCPSS should make anyone who bullies another person serve at least 2 weeks in jail. If that person committes suicide then the person that bullied should be charged for murder and tried as an adult for murder

DeleteBaltimore City should have psychologists come to schools to have speeches about bullying. The psychologists can tell people about what it does to a victim's mentality after being bullied.They should have people that used to get bullied to share what it was like,what they were thinking, and what they did to deal with this.They could try to convince the adults to get involved to stop bullying in a nonviolent manner. This is crucial because in " A Boy the Bullies Love to Beat Up " some of the adults seemed as if they didn't care and blamed the victim. Even if it is the victims's fault they should still find a solution to this problem. To go along with this they should open up an anti-bullying center where bullies come and get picked on by a bigger and stronger person to show them how it feels to get bullied to a certain extent. Hopefully the bully can realize how wrong they were to bully someone and help spread the word on stopping it.

In order to do that we must impliment the no bookie no bully system in all Baltimore City Schools, also we need all people to lend a hand, and lastly the parents need to monitor their children more closely.

The system is pretty self explantory, in order for you(the students) to not receive a jail sentence of at lease 4 months do not be a bully. Unlike most programs where they give you 3 chances the no bookie no bully system only gives you 2. The only reason it is 2 is because once shame on us twice shame on us. As everyone knows baltimore city does not like to be shamed. The system is very hush hush toward the bullied. The bullied could come to the rep and secretely point out who it is and that's the end of it as far as they are concerned.
Also, in order to put a stop to bullying we need everybody to lend a hand. It is said that it takes a village to raise a child the right way. The we need a village to punish the bully and uplift the bullied. In order to help punish the bully we need to village to show them what their lives could turn out like. So get all the drunks, junkies, drop outs, and homeless. But to uplift the bullied shower them with love and explain to them that it is their differences that make them special.
Lastly, in order to put a stop to bullying parents need to monitor their childrens lives more closely. Parents laid there for 20 30 minutes for bliss and concieved a child now take care of it. Watch over what they are posting and notice a spike in behavior patterns. That is the only way bullying is going to stop.
Bullying is a problem and it has no know solution. But a good one is to scare the bullies with the no bookie no bully. Also we need to start a the home front if we want to have any chAnnce at stopping bullying.
Bullying is a very huge problem in the BCPSS. Many students don't experience it, but people fail to realize a lot of students do. It is an ongoing chain throughout childhood, usually because someone's misfortune or appearance. Schools everywhere need to have classroom assistants that students can go to in order to improve their class. If ever there is a bullying problem, the counselor and classroom assistant needs to meet with the student to solve the problem. If the bullying doesn't occur during the class period, the student needs to report it to the closest period assistant they can. Parents will always have a voice over their children. If adults can scrap together evidence that their child is being bullied then the case can be looked upon furthermore. Supportive parents are also welcome to protest bullying going on in school.
